Eligibility Check

A few quick questions to make sure we're the right fit before you book.

Is your pool above ground or in-ground?

Is this a residential or commercial property?

Is your pool equipment (pump, filter, heater) located indoors or in a basement?

Is your pool indoors?

Does your pool have a grotto (built-in rock cave or waterfall feature)?

What type of cover does your pool have?

Your pool details

Used to calculate add-on costs.

Don't know? A typical residential in-ground pool is 15,000–25,000 gallons.

What each tier includes

Optional add-ons
Never included:
✗ Full water balance or chemistry — the pool needs to run and circulate before it can be properly balanced
✗ Green pool cleanup — if the pool opens green, a separate Green-to-Clean service is required and quoted on-site
⚠ Opening ≠ swim-ready. Even a perfectly clear pool needs 24–48 hours of circulation and chemical adjustment before it's safe to swim in. Plan accordingly.

How Scheduling Works

I schedule by week, not by a specific day or time. This allows jobs to be grouped by location to minimize drive time and keep the day moving.

→ The Friday before your week, I'll text you your day and where you fall in the route (e.g. "stop 3 of 6 on Wednesday").

→ You'll get an ETA text when I'm on my way.

→ Requesting a specific day or arrival time isn't possible. The route is built around geography and job complexity across all customers that week.

→ Jobs are typically scheduled Tuesday through Friday. Monday and Saturday are reserved for rain makeups and catch-up. I don't work Sundays.

🏠 No need to be home. Openings can be delayed by traffic, weather, or issues at a prior job. Waiting around wastes your time and costs you money. Go to work — I'll text you when I'm done or if anything needs your attention.

🎉 Planning a pool party? Allow at least 1–2 weeks between your opening and the event. Chemistry needs time to stabilize, and if equipment needs follow-up there may not be enough time to sort it out before guests arrive.

🌧 Rain delays are real. If it's raining on your opening day, service will be paused. If the rain stops, I'll try to get back out — but some customers may get bumped to another day. You'll be notified either way.

🌙 After-dark arrivals happen. On long or complicated days, I may occasionally arrive after dark to complete an opening. Pool equipment works fine in the dark — I bring lighting — but it's worth knowing that's sometimes how the day ends up.

Choose Your Week

Weeks fill up — book early.

Before I arrive

These must be done before your opening date. Please confirm each one. Failure to have these ready may result in a rescheduled visit or a $50 trip fee.

Water level — filled to the midpoint of the skimmer opening. If you booked Deluxe (vacuum), fill to the very top of the skimmer.
Cover pumped off — no standing water on top of the cover. Pump it off the day before if needed.
Breakers on — all indoor breakers for pool equipment switched on before arrival.
Garden hose — a working hose connected and reachable within 50 feet of the pool equipment.
Gate unlocked or code provided — access to the backyard must be available without anyone home. Dogs must be kept inside.
Equipment pad cleared — pump, filter, and heater must have at least 3 feet of clearance on all sides. Cut back any overgrown vegetation before your opening day.
Pool accessories out and visible — skimmer baskets, return fittings, ladder bolts, and cover storage bag placed on the pool deck or within 10 feet of the pool. Do not leave them in a locked or cluttered shed.

Good to know

Almost done — a few important things before you pay.

🔧 Equipment issues at startup are common — and normal.

Pump motors can seize over winter from sitting idle. Heaters get damaged by rodents chewing through wiring. Ants nest in electrical boxes and cause all kinds of problems. These are regular occurrences every spring season.

Don't expect it — but don't be surprised if it happens. Just because it worked fine last fall doesn't guarantee it'll work this spring, and if something doesn't start, it doesn't mean anyone did anything wrong. I'll document everything, show you what I find, and we'll figure out next steps together.

🟢 Green pool?

If the pool opens green, it needs a full remediation before it's swimmable — this is a separate service quoted on-site.

If the water is green but relatively clear of leaves and debris, and the equipment is in good working order, cleanup usually takes around 3 visits. That assumes no major chemical complications — metals like iron or copper, CYA out of range, or elevated nitrates and phosphates all add complexity and can extend the timeline.

If there's heavy debris in the pool — closed green all winter, a ripped cover, or a cover that fell in — the cleanup timeline is very difficult to estimate upfront. We'll assess what we're dealing with and go from there.

📞 No surprise charges.

If I find something unexpected, I'll reach out before doing any additional work. You'll never be surprised by a charge you didn't approve.

💰 Tips

The payment page has an optional tip field. Tips are absolutely not expected or required — but I'll be honest, I'm regularly humbled by how many people leave one. I don't fully understand why people tip for this kind of work, but it means a lot when they do. No pressure at all.

Card Information

Cancellation Policy
Prepayment is required to hold your week. If you cancel for any reason, your prepayment is non-refundable.
Rescheduling
Need to move your opening? No problem — contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled service and we'll move you to another available week at no charge.

Reschedules with less than 24 hours notice incur a $25 late reschedule fee. Life happens — but late changes disrupt the route for every customer scheduled that day.
Weather & Service Delays
If weather forces a delay, your opening is rescheduled at no cost — rain affects the entire route, not just you.

If Delaware Pool Service has to cancel or delay your opening for any other reason (equipment issue, emergency, etc.), you'll be given priority rescheduling to the next available slot. If that doesn't work for your schedule, we'll work out a partial credit or full refund depending on the situation.

Secured by Stripe. Your card info never touches our servers.
